Ovunque proteggimi (“Protect me everywhere”)

By Valerio Berruti - Bricco Rocche Winery, Castiglione Falletto, 2012

Plasma-cut Cor-ten steel is the material from which the sculpture designed to demarcate - or protect, as the name suggests - the Bricco Rocche estate, one of the symbolic crus of Barolo produced by the Ceretto family. The defined lines and shadows that they cast form a fundamental and important element of the work. United when the gate is closed, the two subjects reveal a special relationship with the surrounding area. Observing them from the outside you have the impression that they are looking straight at the winery. However, when you move inside the gate, their perspective changes, once again you find yourself behind them as they direct their gaze towards Serralunga Castle.
