In 2000, we undertook functional repairs at Bricco Rocche, where the winery needed modernising. We decided to work in two parallel directions: underground, to increase the space where the Barolo of this hill rests; and towards the sky, erecting the Cube. This structure is both a view point, being the geographic centre of the Barolo zone that offers a 360 degree-view of the vineyards, and an attraction in itself. Its architecture is, at the same time, imposing and discrete: it is transparent, so as not to upstage the surrounding countryside, and angular, like a young Barolo.
